Lonny Coffey - President & Founder GiantLion
Lonny Coffey has been a mortgage banker for more than 30 years. He received his BBA in Finance from West Texas Sate University in 1974 and entered the mortgage loan business the same year. Lonny has been responsible for mortgage loan origination, management of originators and support staff, and starting and managing production operations. His superlative performance enabled him to advance his career to an executive level where he manages mortgage loan production, sales, and operations for Home Loan Corporation, an organization that closed in excess of $270 million in first lien and sub-prime loans in 2001.
In 2000, Lonny co-authored the book How To Buy & Sell Your Home Without Getting Ripped Off! with Patricia Boyd. The book made a list of the best real estate books of 2000 compiled by Bob Bruss, a nationally syndicated real estate columnist. He rated the book a “10” because of its emphasis on insider information for avoiding problems. Lonny currently posts a blog related to predatory lending.
He is a two-time past president of the Fort Worth Mortgage Bankers Association, has been a member of the board of Directors of the Builders association of Tarrant County and served as Chairman of the Board for Housing Opportunities of Fort Worth.
Lonny has an incredible passion against predatory business practices. The idea that there is a class of people, who simply cheat people because they are under informed and overly trusting is absolutely foreign to Lonny. His mind will not allow him to stand by idly and watch these practices continue.
Lonny’s dream is to see predatory business practices defined and exposed so that honest and ethical people can unite and protect each other. GiantLion is the outcropping of this passion. Lonny’s vision sees thousands of members nationwide whose goal is to provide an ethical business environment, protect the consumer and gain credibility and income through honest, upfront business practices.
Lonny currently lives in Mansfield Texas, a suburb of Dallas with his wife, Karren. They have two children, both currently attending college. He enjoys any opportunity to speak and lecture on a vast array of real estate industry and predatory business topics.
